Where to Start?

Discovery Flight

All flight students take a Discovery Flight with one of our instructors before beginning their instruction. This 30-minute flight gives you the opportunity to see what it's like to fly a plane, ask questions, and make sure it is something you want to commit to.

What Does it Take?

Private Pilot Requirements

Log 40 hours of flight time

Min. 20 hours of instruction
Min. 10 hours of solo flight time

Complete a written exam
Physical from an AME
Proficient in Far Part 61
Practical flight exam

Blake Heckert, CFII

Blake Heckert, a native of Rapid City, South Dakota, completed his flight training at Thrust Flight in Dennison, TX, earning his Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) and Certified Flight Instructor – Instrument (CFII) ratings. Blake is excited to share his passion for aviation and teach new students, helping them achieve their flying goals.
